FORTRESS The mixed media visuals are undeniably gorgeous and added great variety to the world's texture. It's a visual feast, with a thousand gags and a dozen well designed, animated characters contributing to the story and world building. It was like a Where's Waldo book come to life. The layering of various 2D objects and characters was so immersive, cinematic and playful in its approach that it made seem so effortless. The music was fantastic and it added the audible sense of silly chaos appropriate to the satire. Sound design was detailed, and the narrator's voice carried so much emotion, personality and charm in the film. The story was remarkable, a dystopian specifically focused on Poland when it was under communist rule. It was told in a Dadaist style, through the main protagonist.
